Online presentations
Have a look at the general information for presenters.
Authors presenting their work online (oral, invited, special invited, plenary) can present live or send a recording of the presentation. Even if live presentation is chosen, a pre-recorded video is preferred as a back-up safety measure in case of technical problems or network connection issues. If you prefer that we show the pre-recorded presentation, we ask you to still join the session and answer questions live online.
Send your pre-recorded presentation video by 8 September 2021:
Special Invited speakers (35 minutes): Submit video here

Label your video file with your name and Submission ID (You can see the ID in the schedule).
*For the posters, you can use the same link to send the pdf file of the poster.
Online Oral presentation
If you plan to present your speech online, we ask you to record the presentation video, and send the file to the EOS office (links above) by 8 September. If not possible to send a video, live presentation is also possible. Even if live presentation is chosen, a pre-recorded video is preferred as a back-up safety measure in case of technical problems or network connection issues. If you prefer that we show the pre-recorded presentation, we ask you to still join the session and answer questions live online.
We ask all presenters to join the session online 15 minutes before start of the session to receive the speaker access within the session.
Below are some technical requirements and tips to create a captivating presentation.
Timing for presentation videos
Timing is the same for onsite and online presentations. Make sure not to go over your allocated presentation time (depends on the status of the paper: oral, invited, special invited, plenary).
Online Poster presentation
If you present the poster online, we ask you to record the presentation video in advance, and send the file to the EOS office (links above). For online posters, the video should be max. 5 minutes in length (.mp4 file). We also ask you to send us a a pdf-file of the poster (same kind of file you would prepare and print onsite, only in pdf format). The pdf posters will be shared online to attendees to view during the conference.
For online posters there will be no Q&A session so please include your contact details within the video presentation. The poster videos will be shown in a presentation room for the audience during the poster session.
Technical requirements
File size: We can accept a file up to 2 GB. This is the absolute maximum capacity the system will accept but most likely your video file will be much smaller than this so this should not be an issue.
File Format: only possible file format is .mp4! Make sure your videos are in .mp4 format, this is the only file format we can accept. Don't try to upload WAV, MKV or MOV. You can use a software like Movavi to convert your video file to MP4.
Possible tools
If you are using Zoom, either with free or paid account, you can record a presentation, and save locally to your computer. The system should automatically create an .mp4 file of the presentation.
Prepare your slides first. After that, you can record your audio and video feed within the presentation
Save the presentation as a video file (.mp4)
Check for step-by-step instructions: Turn your presentation into a video
Tips for creating the video
Articulation! Remember to articulate so your audience will catch your message.
Consider an external microphone. Using an external dedicated audio recorder is the simplest and most reliable way to capture audio.
Lighting is key. Make sure your face is visible and you have enough light in the room (but also not too much to get over-exposed).
Send your video file to us
Finally, check the presentation for video, audio, slides, pointer, etc. and make sure you have the correct file format (.mp4 is the only format we can approve!)
When finished and happy with your presentation, send the video to EOS Office (links above).
