As a European center of research in optics and photonics, the close integration of Jena‘s two universities with research institutions and local industry, Jena is the cradle of the optical industry in Europe and stands for innovation and progress. This success story began with Carl Zeiss, Ernst Abbe and later Otto Schott. 

The Abbe Center of Photonics is the academic center of scientific activities in the fields of optics and photonics of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. This modern building will be hosting the confernece participants at the „Beutenberg Campus Jena“.
